Energy Saving Tips
Currently over 90% of our energy in South Africa comes from non-renewable resources
like coal, oil and gas that will eventually run out. The less energy we use, the
longer these resources will last and a lower demand for energy will have beneficial
effects on the environment.
Renewable Energy
Renewable energy is generated through our natural resources such as sunlight (Solar
Power), Wind (Wind Turbines), Rain (PVDF – polyvinylidene Fluoride), Tides (Tidal
Energy), Water (Hydro Power) and Geysers (Geothermal heat). 18 percent of the world
power in 2006 was contributed by renewable energy.
The Green or the Rough
China now the world’s largest energy consumer
We’ve just stumbled across some bad news from China, the country we love for its
innovativeness and technologically sound population. The country has exceeded the
United States, turning into the world’s largest energy-consuming nation. According
to a data report by the International Energy Agency, china is fast turning into
an economic superpower and an industrial giant, at a cost, which indirectly will
take its toll on the environment. An increased power consumption rate causes extra
energy need. This obviously darkens carbon footprints. Owing to China’s rise in
the world economy, oil and coal prices have increased too! Just last year, the nation
guzzled 2.252 billion tons of oil equivalent, 4% more than the U.S. A nation developing
is indeed a thing we’d love to see in future, though, with a rising economy, countries
like China certainly need to go green, using greener energy to power up its population.
Hopefully, China takes the necessary steps to greenery.. [China

C.E.D.P. Community Education Development Programme
It is the level of Sitronixs support that justifies our commitment to sustainable
growth and transformation through emerging opportunities, encouraging community
growth and development. Our CSR programme C.E.D.P. (Community Education Development
Programme) headed by Greg Palmer is aimed at the enhancement of education in developing
communities to encourage excellence, identify knowledge and reward achievements.
Through close integration with Harvey Junior Education we are able to identify future
achievers and offer extensive training through a variety of institutes and place
successful candidates in specialised positions. Through the continuity of the programme
we are able to produce the transition from academia to industry and create employment
opportunities within the community.
